hi Claire and Iaan,
wonderful stuff and i just vowed that i ll b reading whole of your articles. Indian Railway had promised to replace the wooden seats with rubber cushion few years back and looks like we ll have to take another five years to make a journey on a rubber cushion. I wonder how Iaan managed to sit in that III class compartment, where you hardly get space to stand.
happy journey ahead and take good care of your health.

Stunning article, Claire. I am particularly charmed by the disguising of alcohol in tea pots. I just wonder if it could happen in Glasgow, where there is a ban on drinking alcohol in public... then again perhaps not!
